COUNCIL SAYS YES TO 5,000 NEW HOMES
By
Alex Perkins,
Canterbury Liberal Democrat Leader
Local Conservative & Labour councillors voted
together last week to approve plans for a staggering
5,000 homes to be built in the district.
The only group to vote against the proposals were
your local Liberal Democrat councillors.
“I am shocked that the Conservative
group agreed to this,” said LibDem councillor
Nick Eden-Green. “They have given the green
light to massive over-development.
“ Many of the sites that will now be built
on are in rural areas. How will our roads and hospitals
cope with the extra demand? Why did the Conservatives
agree to this when we are already struggling to find
enough water?”
